Da Hong Pao

Produced in Wuyi Mountain, Fujian, Da Hong Pao is honored as 'King of Wuyi Tea'. According to legend, the mother of a Ming Dynasty Emperor was cured of her deathbed illness by this tea, and that Emperor was so grateful he sent the finest Imperial 'Big Red Robes' to clothe the four bushes from which that tea originated. The tightly twisted leaves of Da Hong Pao are greenish brown in color. Da Hong Pao offers rich aromas of roasted vegetables, sweet honey and wet river stones. The liquor surrenders the color of warm peach brandy. Delicately spicy, robust and rounded texture, with pit-fruit flavors. After drinking, an enduring aftertaste can be kept in the mouth. It remains fragrant even after being brewed eight times.
